Yadah FC’s march in the ZIFA Munhumutapa Challenge Cup continued on Saturday afternoon after a 2-0 win over Tenax CS FC at Heart Stadium, a result that ended Tenax’s run in the competition.

Vincent Sango opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, giving Yadah the early advantage.

Shingai Masukuta sealed the win in the 49th minute, putting the game beyond Tenax and sending Yadah through to the next round.

The result keeps Yadah’s unbeaten run intact and adds another statement to their season in both the cup and the Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League.

Speaking to Fanzone after the match, Yadah FC head coach Kudakwashe Masaraure credited the win to the group effort and attitude of his players.

“In today’s game it’s team work and team spirit,” Masaraure said.

He also spoke on the trust he has in his squad depth: “I believe in every player I have so I believe in every player I register.”

With tougher tests ahead in the cup, Masaraure urged his side to stay grounded. “Let’s work hard and let’s focus, don’t be carried away,” he added.

Yadah will now turn attention to the next round of the ZIFA Munhumutapa Challenge Cup as they look to build on the momentum.
