ZIFA mourn Bosso trio after tragic loss

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has sent a condolence message to the Highlanders family and the entire football fraternity at large, following the death of three members of the Bosso executive in a car crash last night.

While details of the accident are still sketchy as the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) conduct their investigations, Bosso chairman Kenneth Mhlope, his deputy Fiso Siziba and club treasurer Nkani Khoza, reportedly all lost their lives in the tragic crash.

“The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) joins the entire nation in mourning the tragic passing of Highlanders Football Club Chairman Kenneth Mhlophe, Vice Chairman Fiso
Siziba, and Treasurer Nkani Khoza, who lost their lives in a devastating road traffic accident,” said ZIFA in a statement.

“This is an immeasurable loss for Highlanders Football Club, the city of Bulawayo, and the Zimbabwean football family. Their unwavering commitment, selfless service and leadership made an enduring contribution to one of the country’s most iconic football institutions.

“The tragedy is made even more heartbreaking by its timing. As Highlanders Football Club commemorates its centenary year – a landmark occasion meant to celebrate a century of excellence, resilience and pride – the Bosso family has instead been plunged into profound
grief.

“On behalf of the Zimbabwe Football Association, its Executive Committee, management, staff and the entire football fraternity, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased, the Highlanders Football Club Executive Committee, players,
technical team, members, supporters and everyone affected by this devastating loss.

ZIFA president Nqobile Magwizi described the tragedy as a huge loss.

“Today, Zimbabwean football has lost three devoted servants whose passion and commitment helped shape one of our nation’s greatest footballinstitutions,” said Magwizi.

We are devastated by this heartbreaking tragedy, and our thoughts and prayers are with the families of Kenneth Mhlophe, Fiso Siziba and Nkani Khoza, as well as the entire Highlanders family. It is especially painful that this loss comes during Highlanders’ centenary year, a time that should have been filled with celebration and reflection on a remarkable
legacy.

“Instead, the football family is united in mourning. We pray that God grants comfort,
strength and peace to every grieving heart, and may the souls of our departed brothers rest in
eternal peace.”
