Yadah push for instant PSL return with another crucial away win

Yadah maintain their four point lead at the top of the Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League after a busy Week 23 played over the weekend.
They came from behind to defeat Bikita Minerals FC away, further signalling their intent to make an instant return to the Premier Soccer League with 14 games to go before the season ends.
The Miracle Boys were made to work hard in Bikita but still found a way to win 2-1. That result took them to 49 points from 22 games and kept them top of the table. It was another sign that this Yadah side knows how to get results even when things are not going their way.
Behind them, Tenax CS FC also picked up three points after Chivhu FC did not turn up for their match. The league awarded Tenax a 3-0 win, and that saw them move to 44 points in second place. They are now five points behind Yadah and will be hoping the leaders slip up soon.
Africa Mineral Ventures dropped points after playing to a 2-2 draw with Masvingo United. Even with that result they stay third on 43 points, and they still have the best attack in the league with 35 goals scored. GreenFuel also have 43 points after beating Mutare City Rovers 2-1, but they sit fourth because of goal difference.
Deportivo La Murambinda beat Great Zimbabwe University 2-0 at home to climb to fifth on 41 points. Grand Legacy were held to a 1-1 draw by Power FC and remain sixth on 40 points. That means just nine points separate first place from sixth place, so the race is still very much alive.
Other results saw Renco Mine beat Manica Diamonds U19 1-0 to go seventh on 35 points. Bikita Chida got a big 3-0 win over bottom side Four Lions and moved to 13th on 24 points. Buffaloes and Destiny Stars played to a goalless draw, while FC Wangu Mazodze were on a bye this week.
At the bottom of the table things are getting tight. Four Lions are still last on 10 points and have not won a game all season. Power are just above them on 11 points, followed by Chivhu on 14 and FC Wangu Mazodze on 17. With the season heading into the final stretch, every game now feels like a cup final for those teams.
Yadah are showing the qualities of a team that wants to go up. They are winning away, they are winning when they are behind, and they have the best defence in the league having only let in nine goals. But with Tenax, AMV and GreenFuel all still in the hunt, they cannot afford to relax.
Week 24 is coming fast, and if the Miracle Boys drop points, the chasing pack will be right there to take advantage. For now though, the roost still belongs to Yadah.
