Highlanders FC coach Benjani Mwaruwari has opened up on Bosso’s prospects of adding new players during the ongoing transfer window.

The mid-season player transfer window in Zimbabwe officially opened on 1 July 2026, and clubs have already flexed their muscles. Ambitious sides like Scottland FC and Hardrock FC have made their presence felt on the market.

Scottland pulled off a major coup by acquiring former Dynamos skipper Emmanuel Jalai on loan from Durban City FC. They also signed Nickson Nyasulu from FC Platinum, with a number of Namibian players reportedly on their radar.

Hardrock have signed striker Prince Dube and defender Gerald Takwara. They have also lured Thubelihle Mavuso and Yekisizwe “Yeki” Khumalo from Eswatini.

CAPS United have been busy too, bringing in Warriors goalkeeper Washington Arubi, Malawian midfielder Precious Phiri, Motswana goalkeeper Victor James and Congolese striker Chris Mugalu.

On the other hand, Dynamos have been active on the market but are yet to unveil their latest additions. Nathan Mutasa is believed to be on his way to the Glamour Boys on loan from Scottland FC.

Chicken Inn have moved for Junior Makunike, while champions Simba Bhora have signed Farai Banda from Manica Diamonds and Francis Jeremani from Harare City. Even struggling sides TelOne and Manica Diamonds have added new faces.

However, Highlanders have been mum on whether they will beef up their squad this July. Although they have been linked with Mason Mushore, who was released by South African club AmaZulu FC, there are no concrete signs of a deal.

Asked about their transfer business, the former Warriors striker said: “As a coach, we want to boost the squad, but we need to go back to the executive and see what is available to us. You know mid-season is always difficult because teams don’t want to release players, so it’s not that easy.

“We will see what becomes available and try to reinforce the areas that we are lacking. Of course I have a wish list. As a coach you always have a wish list. The problem is how to get there. But we will try our best to reinforce the squad. As you know, this window is difficult and all the good players are tied up,” Mwaruwari said.
