Highlanders desperate to sell Mongameli amid ‘attitude’ concerns since Warriors debut

Highlanders, together with head coach Benjani Mwaruwari, are desperate to sell midfielder Mongameli Tshuma amid claims his attitude changed following his Warriors debut, Fanzone can reveal.
Tshuma (24) joined Highlanders FC from Southern Region Soccer League side, Hwange FC at the beginning of the season and quickly rose to prominence after impressing in his first matches in the iconic black and white Bosso kit.
He was so impressive that then-Warriors coach Marian Marinica gambled and gave the gifted midfielder his national team debut in the Mukuru Four-Nations tournament, where he justified his inclusion with a brilliant goal against hosts Botswana.
Before the opening of the mid-season transfer window, Tshuma emerged as one of the most sought-after stars. CAPS United and Scottland reportedly placed bids for the lanky midfielder.
He was even spotted in Harare, with indications that he was negotiating a potential move to the capital city. Reports also revealed that South African Betway Premiership clubs have been monitoring the player with keen interest. But to date, no deal is in sight.
And Highlanders are reportedly unhappy with the midfielder’s ‘change of attitude because of the attention he is now getting.’

A source privy to goings-on at Bosso told Fanzone that the club’s executive, with the blessing of Mwaruwari, are desperate to show Tshuma the exit door, and have even lowered his price tag from US$200,000 to US$150,000.
The source also claims that after CAPS United were reluctant to pay the required transfer fee, Mwaruwari personally offered Tshuma to MWOS FC.
“Everyone at the club is in agreement that Monga (Tshuma)’s attitude has changed since the attention he started getting from playing for the national team,” said the source.
“Against this background, even head coach Benjani Mwaruwari has communicated about it, raising concerns about the player’s attitude as well as commitment to the Highlanders cause.
“The coach even offered Monga to MWOS, and requested that the Norton-based club include midfielder Malvern Mudzuka in the deal, as Benjani is a big fan of the lanky midfielder.
“Basically, everyone at Highlanders believes it is in the best interest of everyone if Mongameli is sold,” added the source.
To fuel speculation that Mwaruwari is not happy with Tshuma, the midfielder has not started in Bosso’s last two league matches.
