Tension galore in the blue half of Harare, as Dynamos fail to win again

The word ‘Tamirira’ is often used in the blue half of Zimbabwe’s capital city Harare.
Current and former Dynamos players, players, officials and fans of the Harare giants can easily relate to the word —which simply means ‘we are waiting.’
Tamirira was also the first word which came out of Zexie Manatsa’s mouth when the late music legend voiced the iconic song Tamirireiko (Dynamos Igowese), in 1987.
Currently though, if one is a Dynamos fan and expecting a child, they might as well name that child Tamirira, because of how long the wait has been, for a win in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
Genesis Mangombe’s charges have gone for six games without tasting victory, to the frustration of their ever-demanding faithful.
After last week’s defeat to city rivals CAPS United at Rufaro, DeMbare returned to their favorite hunting ground yesterday but still failed to win- as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Herentals College.
Ralph Kawondera’s 90th minute strike denied them what would have been their first victory in over a month.
As a matter of fact, Dynamos have failed to win all their last five matches at Rufaro —a bizarre scenario considering how the iconic venue is regarded as a fortress.
While an interplay of several reasons can be attributed to explain Dynamos’ poor run of form, what’s certainly not up for debate, is the fact that there might be a problem.
A section of furious DeMbare fans waited for Mangombe at the stadium exit point to voice their frustration.
As the former Triangle United coach drove his Ford Everest out of Rufaro, not even the comfort of the sleek SUV could save him from the tension.
“You should leave our club now,” one fan shouted at Mangombe, in a video which circulated on social media last night.
Yesterday’s situation was made worse by the fact that heading into the Herentals clash, DeMbare had suffered back to back loses to Chicken Inn and CAPS, yet they failed to return to winning ways against the Students.
They welcome relegation-threatened Triangle at Rufaro on Sunday, before traveling to Kwekwe to face Hardrock at Chahwanda.
Anything other than a win could cause more problems for Mangombe.
