Tafirenyika speaks out on departure from Africa Minerals‎

‎Former Africa Minerals Ventures FC Assistant Coach Prince “Skeelo” Tafirenyika has spoken out about the challenges he and head coach Shadreck Mugurasave faced at the Rusape-based team.

‎Tafirenyika, who recently joined Deportivo La Murambinda as assistant coach to Lovemore Dzoro, revealed that Mugurasave’s resignation was a result of CEO Nyasha Kadenge’s interference in coaching operations.

‎As he recounted the events to Fanzone, Tafirenyika said, “At AMV FC we were there under Shadreck Mugurasave’s ticket as he was the one who chose his assistants but then all hell broke loose when the CEO started bringing in other coaches whom she said would be 3rd assistant coach, and one coach ditched the role and we were told another coach had come and would be the 1st assistant and this didn’t go down well with the head coach as the CEO was just bringing in coaches without consulting the head coach.”

‎Tafirenyika’s criticism of Kadenge’s management was scathing, describing Mugurasave as a “stooge coach” due to the CEO’s overreach. “Players were coming without the coach knowing, so to me Mugurasave was just a stooge coach because all the dealings were done by one senior player, Clifton Kadurira and the Nyasha Kadenge the CEO,” said Tafirenyika.

‎Looking ahead, Tafirenyika, who led Mutare City Rovers FC to a sixth-place finish last season, is positive about his new role.

‎Sharing his aspirations, he said, “My targets are to just improve my coaching career and attend all the CAF coaching courses this year.”

‎The soft-spoken gaffer is also excited about building a strong team at La Murambinda.

‎”I also wish to further my coaching education at Deportivo La Murambinda as well as building a formidable squad that’ll compete for honors at the end of the season,” added Tafirenyika.
