AmaZulu FC striker Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya has become the most sought-after Zimbabwean forward in South Africa after a flying start to the 2026/27 season.

The 23-year-old is now being chased by clubs across the continent. Reports from South Africa say Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca and Wydad AC have made enquiries to AmaZulu FC. PSL title-chasers Scottland FC are also keen on him.

Ngwenya has been the standout striker in the Betway Premiership of South Africa with six goals in five league matches, plus two in the MTN8 Cup. That has taken him to eight in all competitions and top of the Golden Boot standings.

His form earned him the Betway Premiership Player of the Month award for August and a return to the Zimbabwe Warriors squad for the upcoming 2027 AFCON qualifiers.

Raja Casablanca are known for signing Africa’s best and they view Ngwenya as a perfect fit also considering his age. However, AmaZulu will be desperate to keep their best man at the moment.

Scottland FC are also keen on Ngwenya who worked with their coach Norman Mapeza at FC Platinum and the pair share a strong “father-son” bond.

For now, Ngwenya remains focused on AmaZulu. Head coach Arthur Zwane has already admitted the team relies heavily on him for goals.

But with interest from Morocco and other unnamed clubs, his current form, it may only be a matter of time before one of the big guns gets their man.
