Inter’s victory over Cagliari edges them closer to the Serie A crown

Inter Milan claimed a 3-0 success against Cagliari, strengthening their position at the top of Serie A and moving 12 points clear with six matches remaining. The result further underlined their control of the title race.
The opening half proved frustrating for Cristian Chivu’s side, as they dominated possession but failed to convert their chances into goals. Despite applying pressure, they were unable to break through before the interval.
The breakthrough came shortly after halftime, when a quick spell transformed the match. Federico Dimarco delivered an excellent pass that allowed Marcus Thuram to finish from close range at the far post.
Quick-fire goals shift momentum decisively
Just four minutes after the opener, Nicolo Barella doubled the advantage with a powerful strike from 15 meters that left no chance for the goalkeeper. The rapid double blow effectively settled the contest in Inter’s favour.
Thuram’s goal continued his strong form, marking his fourth in three matches and reinforcing his importance in the closing stages of the season.
Inter maintained control following the second goal, limiting any response from Cagliari while continuing to threaten in attack.
Zielinski’s strike seals result as gap widens
The third goal arrived through Piotr Zielinski, who produced a fine volley that flew into the top corner, adding a final touch to the victory.
The win extended Inter’s lead over Napoli to 12 points, leaving them in a commanding position with only six rounds left to play.
Cagliari, meanwhile, remained in 16th place, sitting six points above the relegation zone as they continue their battle to avoid dropping into the lower division.
