FCP add Chippa United flavour to their squad

Former Chippa United midfielder Baraka Majogoro in action

After a half-season of Joel Luphahla’s lamentations, FC Platinum have made promising additions to their squad, headlined by former Chippa United midfielder Baraka Majogoro.

On Friday, the four-time PSL winners announced four new signings as they look to turn a corner after slipping down to be mid-table team. They are 10th on the PSL table, with 26 points.

Notably, they brought in Baraka Majogoro, who spent two years at Chippa United upto 2025. The Betway Premiership club was once home to their former coach Norman Mapeza and the Moyo twins, Kelvin and Elvis.

The Tanzanian international, Majogoro was unveiled alongside Namibian duo Vitapi Ngaruka and Isaskar Gurirab, as well as Mcebisi Moyo, a Zimbabwean left-footed winger. Majogoro was on the books of KMC FC in Tanzania’s topflight.

THE NEW FC PLATINUM SIGNINGS UNVEILED

Club General Manager Collin Nikisi was visibly pleased as he unveiled the quartet at Mandava Stadium. The club also extended the contracts of captain Mbongeni Ndlovu and vice-captain Hagiazo Magaya.

“Our first signing in Zimbabwe is Mcebisi Moyo, an exciting attacking winger. He joins us from Botswana Premier League side, Sua Flamingos.

“Mcebisi has spent the past five seasons establishing himself as one of Botswana’s standout performers. Our second signing is Vitapi Ngaruka. He is a Namibian international defender and arrives from African Stars, the reigning Namibian champions,” Nikisi said.

Nikisi also welcomed Isaskar Gurirab, who was among the leading goalscorers at Simba Bhora last season. Gurirab reunites with Luphahla in Zvishavane after working together at Simba Bhora.

“We are also equally delighted to welcome Isaskar Gurirab, a proven Namibian striker, who joins us from Scotland FC,” he said.

Commenting on the former Chippa United star, Nikisi said: “And our fourth addition is Baraka Majogoro. He is a Tanzanian international midfielder and most recently featured for Chippa United in South Africa. We believe his technical ability and international experience will also add quality, creativity and depth to our midfield.”
