Chingwere floating in unfamiliar territory

For a club that only gained entry into the Northern Region Soccer League after a lengthy boardroom battle, Chingwere FC are now making headlines for all the right reasons on the field.
The Mashonaland West side finds itself in unfamiliar territory, sitting fourth on the table with 21 points, just four behind current leaders Harare City.
Few would have predicted such a strong start from a team making its debut appearance in arguably the toughest and most competitive region in the country.
The Mashonaland West-based outfit have let their football do the talking, to the admiration of the local football fraternity.
In 13 matches, they have won five, drawn six and lost only two, establishing themselves as one of the league’s surprise packages.
Despite eventually settling for a 1-1 stalemate with Rangers yesterday, the result was yet another chapter in the story that has already exceeded many expectations.
