Chaminuka handed four-game ultimatum at TelOne FC

Saul Chaminuka at Ascot stadium

With TelOne FC’s season falling short of expectations, coach Saul Chaminuka now has a four-game ultimatum to rescue the campaign or be shown the door, Fanzone can reveal.

How Chaminuka and his men will fare in the upcoming games remains to be seen. Chaminuka and his technical team were summoned to a no-holds-barred meeting on Wednesday where the four-game ultimatum was handed down.

WHO TELONE FACE IN THE NEXT FOUR GAMES

TelOne FC has demanded that Chaminuka deliver wins, starting with Saturday’s game against Highlanders FC. After Bosso, they face Bulawayo Chiefs, Dynamos FC and MWOS FC in that order.

Their latest result at the hands of Agama FC left them at the bottom of the PSL table with just eight points. The Wifi Boys are undoubtedly the whipping boys this season, with one win all season, and that came away at Triangle United.

But at home, Ascot Stadium, they have simply been dismal. After eight home games and eight losses, the Wifi Boys have collected zero points at home.

And coach Chaminuka, who took over from Herbert Maruwa, is in trouble and could lose his job if they fail to win the next four matches.

Chaminuka last week said the club must leave Ascot Stadium, amid growing concerns that the venue has bad luck. So far, they have dropped 24 points at home this season.

TELONE STAYING PUT AT ASCOT STADIUM

Meanwhile, TelOne FC are set to stay put at Ascot Stadium despite Chaminuka’s remarks following their narrow loss to Agama FC last weekend.

Club President Oscar Nduwure told Fanzone that they are staying put as Ascot stadium, believing they will turn a corner at the venue.

“We invested in the facility so it’s not possible for us to move away from it. What we need is the right mindset and unity of purpose to arrest this crisis. Now we have a new kit, hopefully it brings us a fresh start and good results,” said Oscar Nduwure.

The club said they have invested in the refurbishment of the Gweru facility and are unwilling to abandon their investment.

Even under former coach Maruwa, Ascot Stadium gave them nothing. They have only recorded one win in 15 matches, which was against Triangle at Gibbo Stadium.
