There are strong rumours doing the rounds that ambitious Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League side Africa Mineral Ventures FC are set to part ways with head coach Collin Chinyani just three months into the job.

A high placed source who spoke to Fanzone on condition of anonymity said the decision was made last week.
“The executive were not happy with the goalless draw against Manica Diamonds U19 FC,” the source said. “That result saw us lose ground in the championship race and Yadah FC opened up a four point gap at the top. The decision to relieve the coach was made last week.”

AMV are currently second on the log with 39 points, four points behind leaders Yadah FC.

According to the source, the Rusape based side arebset to appoint a new coach.

“The club wants to mount a serious championship push in the second half of the season and set to appoint a seasoned coach,” the source added.

If the rumours turn out to be true, it will come as a shock to many in the region.

Chinyani had a brief stint at Grand Legacy FC earlier this season where he laid the platform they are currently enjoying.

He then moved to AMV and again turned them into championship contenders.

The Rusape side showed their ambition in the mid season break by splashing money on big names.

They brought in Cleopas Kapupurika, Enesio Perezu Junior and several others as they chase the sole ticket to the Premier Soccer League.

For now the club has not made any official announcement.
“It remains to be seen how this one pans out,” the source said. “But changes are expected.”

Fanzone will keep you updated on the developments.
