Nobert Zingo, the former Destiny Stars Football Club star, is banking on a bright future with Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League debutants Africa Minerals Ventures Football Club.
The 35-year-old forward is currently training with the Rusape-based side, hoping to make the cut and join the likes of Liberty Chakoroma, Takabva Mawaya, Devon Chafa, and Adam Tende who are believed to be on the verge of signing.
Zingo’s impressive outing with Destiny Stars FC last season earned him a spot in the Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League Soccer Stars Calendar as first runner-up.
He scored 12 goals and assisted 5 goals, winning the player of the month award for June 2025.
His consistent performances helped Destiny Stars finish seventh, proving his inclusion in the Soccer Stars calendar was no fluke.
Reflecting on his nomination, the midfielder told Fanzone that he was on cloud number nine.
”When I was nominated for the best players in the region, I was overwhelmed and, worse still, to be the second runner-up, I was so happy and grateful to the Almighty,” said Zingo.
Moreover, Zingo praised his former club for their professionalism and welcoming environment.
”With Destiny Stars, my time with them was so special; they treated me with professionalism and respect. I want to thank them for accommodating me, and I fit in so well. What I learned from Destiny Stars is that the team might be still growing, but it can produce good things.”
Currently, Zingo is training with Africa Minerals Ventures Football Club, and he’s optimistic about the team’s chances. “Yes, they are debutants in the region, but I’m sure they have all it takes to compete in the region. What attracts me to train with them is how they structured their organization, so in my mind, I can see their seriousness,” he said.
Looking ahead to the 2026 season, Zingo is focused on delivering results. “My 2026 season goals are based on when I put my signature on the paper, but if I make the grade, I promise them the best of me,” added Zingo.
With Zingo’s experience and talent, Africa Minerals Ventures could be a force to be reckoned with in the Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League.
