Yadah are back on top of the Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League after a hard-fought 1-0 win over GreenFuel in a rescheduled Week 19 fixture played at Heart Stadium in Harare on Friday afternoon.

It took just six minutes for Kudzai Jason to break the deadlock, and that early strike proved enough for Kudakwashe Masaraure’s men to hold on and bank all three points.

The victory pushes the Miracle Boys to 40 points from 18 matches and puts them two points clear at the summit.

The result was a massive blow for Green Fuel who stay on 34 points and are now six points adrift of the leaders.

With the season entering its business end, that gap makes the championship race even more intriguing, especially with two other heavyweights refusing to drop off.

Tenax CS FC also made their move on Friday edging Destiny Stars FC 1-0 away to climb to 38 points, level with Africa Mineral Ventures FC who occupy second place.

Tenax now sit third only on goal difference, but with the best defensive record in the league having conceded just six goals all season, they are genuine contenders. Destiny Stars drop to 12th on 19 points after the loss.

The biggest scoreline of the day came out of Mutare where Buffaloes FC ran riot with a 5-1 demolition of Power FC.

The win was exactly what Buffaloes needed. It lifts them to 11th on 22 points and gives them some breathing space above the relegation zone.

For Power FC, the defeat leaves them rooted to the bottom on 9 points from 18 games and still searching for a second win of the campaign.

The updated log tells the story of a league that is tightening by the week. Yadah lead on 40 points, followed by Africa Mineral Ventures and Tenax CS both on 38. Grand Legacy FC are fourth on 35, while Green Fuel and Deportivo La Murambinda are locked together on 34 points in fifth and sixth.

Bikita Minerals remain in seventh on 30 points.

At the top it is now a three-horse race with just two points separating first from third.

The Miracle Boys have the momentum and the points, AMV have the firepower with 30 goals scored, and Tenax have the stingiest defense.

With every game now carrying massive weight, the Eastern Region title could go down the wire.
