‎George Adu, the winger ambitious Eastern Region Soccer League side Deportivo La Murambinda signed from Ghana has warned that they are challenging for the 2026 championship.

In an exclusive wide ranging interview with Fanzone soon after Deportivo La Murambinda’s 1-0 victory over Grand Legacy Football Club yesterday in Murambinda in a week 3 encounter, Ghanaian international George Adu expressed his delight with life in Zimbabwe and his new club.

Adu is one of the three Ghanaian internationals who were signed by the ambitious Murambinda side for the 2026 season.

‎”It feels good to be here in Zimbabwe, I am enjoying every moment here at Deportivo La Murambinda,” Adu said. “I am really happy to have signed for La Murambinda, which will develop my talent and I hope and pray that at the end of the season we will be the champions of the Eastern Region.”

‎Adu, who came on as a second-half substitute in the week 3 Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League match played at Uhera Stadium in Murambinda, had a decent game and praised Grand Legacy for giving them a tough match. “Grand Legacy gave us a really good game, we really didn’t expect to have much problems with them but they really gave us a tough one and I am glad that we conquered them and collected the three points.”

‎The winger also sent a warning to other Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League sides, saying, “We are coming, they really need to watch out for us because we are definitely challenging for the championship.”

‎Adu’s team, Deportivo La Murambinda, are currently on 4 points from their opening three games, thanks to Francis Zvijayi’s first-half goal that gave them the win.

They will look to extend their winning streak when they travel to face Great Zimbabwe University FC on Sunday in their week 4 encounter.
