Talen Vision FC produced a clinical second-half display to dismantle Khami United FC 5-0 on Friday afternoon, with the early goal proving decisive against the “Prison Boys” who, on their day, are tough to beat.

It took just 15 minutes for Talen Vision to strike. Calvin Chigonero found the back of the net to give TV the perfect start and unsettle Khami United early.

To their credit, Khami settled and found their rhythm. They knocked on Talen Vision’s door but goalkeeper Prosper Mathuthu refused to answer, keeping them out despite mounting pressure. Referee Blessing Mpande blew for halftime with Talen Vision 1-0 up.

Mkhuphali Masuku and his boys came out for the second half in no mood for smiles. Just five minutes after the restart, Josiel Mhlanga doubled the lead to make it 2-0.

Talen Vision kept piling on the pressure. In the 64th minute, former Highlanders winger Tendai Mavuti delivered a dangerous cross that a Khami United defender turned into his own net while attempting to clear. 3-0.

Khami’s afternoon went from bad to worse in the 70th minute when they were forced into an injury substitution after their goalkeeper Leeroy Moyo went down.

Five minutes later, Joseph Antonyo fired home from just outside the 18-yard area for goal number four. Tawanda Kaduwa then wrapped things up right before the final whistle to complete the 5-0 rout.

Talen Vision coach Mkhuphali Masuku felt his side was too eager early on
“We were rushing to score in the first half. In second half I said, ‘Where you have to play two touches, play two. Where you have to play one touch, play one.’ I think it paid off look at the goals we scored. It was all through teamwork.”

Khami United’s coach Lizwe Hlanganana was left to rue another poor start to a half .
“I think in the first 45 minutes we played well even though we conceded early. In the second half we conceded early again and I think the boys just gave up. Going into the next fixture, we will work on our finishing.
