Tagara joins Agama in dream move

In a major coup for Castle Lager Premier Soccer League debutants Agama Football Club, former FC Hunters goalkeeper Danny Tagara has sealed a one-year deal with the Mt Darwin-based side.

‎The 2025 Northern Region Soccer League champions, who pipped N’ombeyaora to the title, have bolstered their squad with Tagara’s signing, adding experience and talent between the sticks.

‎Tagara’s move comes at a time when FC Hunters are making headlines for all the wrong reasons, with the club embroiled in controversy and uncertainty.

‎The goalkeeper’s decision to join Agama FC marks a significant blow to the Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League champions, who are struggling to hold onto their star players.

‎Tagara, a Zimbabwe U-17 and U-20 national team alumnus, brings a wealth of experience to Agama FC.

‎His meteoric rise in the previous year, which saw him join FC Hunters in the mid-season transfer window and help them clinch the Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League championship, has been nothing short of remarkable.

‎A visibly thrilled Tagara told Fanzone that he is upbeat after finally making his dream move.

‎”Wow, I’m absolutely thrilled to join Agama Football Club! This is a dream come true for me, and I’m honored to be part of this amazing team, I’m looking forward to the challenge and the opportunity to grow with the club.”

‎The goalkeeper, who recently graduated with a BCom (Human Capital Management) degree from Bindura University of Science Education, is eager to take his game to the next level. “I’m super excited to be playing in the Premier Soccer League for the first time. It’s a big step up, but I’m ready for the challenge. My mindset is to stay focused, work hard, and learn as much as I can,” said Tagara.

‎With his sights set on success, Tagara outlined his goals for the season. “Short-term, I want to establish myself as a key player in the team and contribute to Agama FC’s success in the Premier Soccer League. Long-term, I aim to help the team win trophies and make a name for myself in Zimbabwean football.”

‎As Agama FC prepares to take on the best teams in the Premier League, Tagara is confident about their chances. “Agama FC is a great team with talented players, and I expect us to make a statement in the Premier Soccer League. We’re a team on the rise, and I believe we can achieve great things this season,” added Tagara.
