Simba Bhora oozing with confidence ahead of upcoming season despite losing players

Losing players does not necessarily mean a team will not perform well, Simba Bhora vice chairman Charles Nyatsine has said.

Nyatsine’s remarks come in the wake of the Shamva-based players selling goalkeeper Tonderai Mateyaunga, defender Boid Mutukure, midfielders Junior Makunike and Donald Mudadirwa, to HardRock.

Soccer Star of the Year finalist Emmanuel Ziocha and striker Isaskar Gurirab, have joined champions Scottland.

Despite that, Nyatsine insists the former champions are more than capable of mounting a title charge in 2026.

“The preparations for the 2026 season are going on well in Botswana. The players and the technical team are jellying well and creating the bond that is so crucial in a team,” Nyatsine told Fanzone.

“Being away from home creates that conducive environment needed to achieve this.

“The issue of loosing players has of late become a norm not only to us but to many teams. To some extent l would like to thank the club president (Simba Ndoro) who has not only changed the narrative of football into professionalism.

“I say this because his involvement in soccer has attracted many players like Scotland, Hardrock ,Agama to mention a few who have then benefited with a portion of former players.

“We have defied odds and have proved that loosing players does not stop you from performing well as there are many players out there waiting for the opportunity to shine at the highest level.

“We are not moved at all,” added Nyatsine.

Nyatsine also broke silence on the uncertainty regarding the future of star defender Ishe Mauchi, who has been linked with a move to South Africa, after his contract with Simba expired on December 31, 2025.

“All l can say at the moment about Mauchi is that the player is in Botswana with the team and if there are any developments I will let you know,” said Nyatsine.
