Silent Killer set for FC Oden takeover?

When FC Oden announced the appointment of former Kaizer Chiefs and Warriors midfielder Willard Katsande as head coach, many believed the Chinhoyi-based side was preparing for an ambitious push in the MCM Estates Northern Region Soccer League.

However, behind the excitement surrounding Katsande’s arrival, questions are beginning to emerge over the club’s situation.

Reports from Chinhoyi suggest that all may not be well at FC Oden.

Despite the league observing a mid-season break, the club is said to have only recently resumed training, a development that has raised eyebrows among followers of the team.

Adding to the uncertainty are rumours that players are still waiting to receive outstanding salaries, although the club has not publicly commented on the matter.

There is also growing speculation that FC Oden could be on the verge of changing ownership, with sources at the club telling Fanzone that popular South Africa-based businessman Tafadzwa ‘Silent Killer’ Musekiwa, has emerged as the frontrunner to acquire the Northern Region Soccer League outfit.

“Whilst I cannot say with certainty, all indications point to the club being sold and as it stands, Silent Killer (Tafadzwa Musekiwa) is the favorite to take over,” said the source.

Efforts to get a comment from Musekiwa, were unsuccessful.

If true, the developments could mark a significant turning point for the Chinhoyi-based club, which had generated optimism following Katsande’s appointment.

Supporters will now be hoping for clarity from the club’s leadership as uncertainty continues to surround one of the Northern Region’s most talked-about teams.
