Return to Sakubva stadium a blessing, as Manica Diamonds gear Up for Bosso hurdle

Manica Diamonds

Manica Diamonds coach Patrick Mandizha credits their return to Sakubva Stadium for turning their luck around after a rough start under Tafadzwa Mashiri.

The Gem Boys have collected seven points out of a possible nine in their last three matches after beating Agama FC 3-1, drawing 1-1 with FC Hunters, and beating TelOne FC 2-1 on Saturday.

Prior to this marked improvement, Manica Diamonds were the league’s punching bag, as they also endured a botched ownership swap deal with Africa Minerals Venture Football Club.

As a result, they are slowly moving out of the relegation zone and will hope to keep up their good form when they host Highlanders on Sunday at Sakubva Stadium. Mandizha is upbeat and confident that they will slay every PSL giant they host at Sakubva Stadium.

“I attribute the resurgence to our return to Sakubva Stadium. Playing at home has rejuvenated the team, and the support from our fans has definitely boosted their confidence – reflected in the results we’ve gotten in the last three games,”Mandizha said.

Manica Diamonds will be hoping to shock Bosso, who have been inconsistent this season. After stunning Hardrock a fortnight ago, Bosso put up a lukewarm performance against Ngezi Platinum Stars at home, Barbourfields Stadium, on Sunday.
