After 13 rounds of action in the MCM Estates Northern Region Soccer League, the table reveals some fascinating trends that highlight why the title race, promotion battle, and relegation fight remain wide open.

League leaders Harare City have been the division’s most successful side so far, recording 7 victories, the highest number of wins in the league. Their success has been built on a solid defensive foundation, conceding just 6 goals, the second-best defensive record in the division.

While Harare City sit at the summit, Chingwere FC boast the league’s most potent attack. The newcomers have scored 16 goals, tied with CP Chemicals, making them the division’s joint-highest scorers.

Chingwere’s achievement is even more impressive considering this is their first season in the Northern Region Soccer League .

Defensively, no team has been better than Black Rhinos, who have conceded just 5 goals in 13 matches. Their defensive discipline explains why they remain firmly in the title race despite scoring only 9 goals.

The draw specialists of the division are Chingwere FC, Chegutu Pirates, Batanai FC, and Jumbo Giants, all with 7 draws.

While avoiding defeat has helped them collect points, turning some of those draws into wins could significantly improve their positions.

At the opposite end, Harare City and Black Rhinos have suffered the fewest defeats, losing only 2 matches each. Ngezi Stars U19 have matched that feat, underlining why they remain serious promotion contenders.

The league’s most difficult team to beat is arguably Chingwere FC, who have lost only 2 games while drawing six times.

At the bottom of the standings, Shamva Mine FC have endured a difficult campaign. They have conceded a league-high 19 goals and possess the worst goal difference at -13. Their tally of just 3 wins is shared with several struggling sides including Marege FC, Zambezi G & C, Jumbo Giants, Batanai FC, and Chegutu Pirates.

Perhaps the most remarkable statistic belongs to Ngezi Stars U19. Despite being a youthful side, they have conceded only 7 goals and remain just one point behind leaders Harare City, proving that youth is no barrier to competing for promotion.

With only one point separating first and third place, and several teams still within touching distance of the summit, the Northern Region Soccer League title race promises plenty of twists and turns in the weeks ahead.
