New era dawns for Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League as AGM approaches‎


‎The Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League is set to embark on a new chapter in its history, with the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for Saturday at Montclair Hotel and Casino in Nyanga.

This milestone event will officially mark the beginning of Wisdom Simba’s tenure as league chairman, following his victory over Special Matarirano in the December 2025 elections.

‎Simba, who won the elections which were the first in the region will be deputized by Vice Chairman Gray Hama who was elected unopposed.

‎The pair will lead a virtually unchanged Eastern Region board, comprising Simbarashe Mandishona (Marketing), Rodgers Banda (Development), Mollen Makumbe (Finance), and newly elected Stefani Masina (Competitions).

‎In an exclusive interview with Fanzone Fungai Munyoro-Chingaira, the Regional Administrator confirmed the date and venue of the upcoming indaba.

“The league’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on 14 March at the Montclair Hotel & Casino, where club chairpersons and league leadership will meet to review the previous season and prepare for the upcoming one.”

‎The AGM will bring together chairpersons from all teams in the Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League, providing a platform for stakeholders to discuss key issues like presentation of reports and operational issues affecting clubs

“Key agenda items will include the presentation of reports, season preparations, and other operational matters affecting clubs,” said Munyoro-Chingaira.

‎Moving in line with modern trends Munyoro-Chingaira stated that the league has held workshops for club officials including security officers and media officers.

‎Last weekend the league held two workshops for Media Officers and Safety and Security Officers in Masvingo.

‎”To achieve this, the league has already begun capacity-building workshops for club officials, media officers, and safety and security officers, and will continue working closely with clubs to ensure compliance with league requirements, proper venue standards, and smooth running of the competition,” Munyoro-Chingaira added.

‎With Pacific Storm’s sponsorship, the league is poised for success in its second year, marking a significant turnaround from its pre-sponsorship era, which saw the league go without a sponsor since its formation at the turn of the millennium.
