Nathan Mutasa was the spark off the bench again as Dynamos held PSL log leaders Scottland FC to a 1-1 draw at Rufaro Stadium on Wednesday, leaving Norman Mapeza fuming that his side were robbed.

Mutasa was introduced in the 56th minute and immediately gave DeMbare the much-needed energy to maintain their unbeaten run under Aristică Cioabă.

The result leaves Scottland FC on 54 points, just three ahead of second-placed Hardrock FC. Dynamos stay third on 46 points.

But it was Mapeza who stole the post-match headlines. The Scottland gaffer was unhappy with referee Thabani Ruzario and his assistants.

“It’s a big game and it’s painful that it’s decided by someone. We were the better side, and we played quality football but some of the things happening in our football, I can’t talk about them,” Norman Mapeza told ZBC TV after the match.

Dynamos almost struck early. Ben Sidibe headed wide from a Frank Agyemang cross in the third minute after Agyemang had dispossessed Kwakhe Thwala on the left.

Scottland’s best chance in the first half fell to Emmanuel Ziocha. He cut in from the right past Abel Gwatidzo and Clive Mandivei but his shot was blocked brilliantly by Tatenda Makoni.

Scottland thought they had the lead on 37 minutes when Ziocha picked out Khama Billiat for a cool finish. But the flag was up for offside.

DeMbare started the second half on the front foot. Sidibe rattled the crossbar in the 46th minute with Chadya beaten. Cioabă then threw on Wisdom Mutasa and Nathan Mutasa for fresh legs.

The breakthrough came in the 61st minute. Scottland took the lead through Panashe Mutimbanyoka, who tapped home from an Emmanuel Jalai cross that deflected off Shadreck Nyahwa.

But the lead lasted just 8 minutes. Dynamos hit back via Wisdom Mutasa, finishing off a brilliant team move inspired by Nathan Mutasa. The youngster delivered an exquisite pass into the box, Sidibe headed it across goal, and Wisdom had the simple tap-in.

Scottland responded with a double change on 70 minutes, Walter Musona for Ziocha and Knowledge Musona for Moses Shidolo. But the impact was minimal as neither managed a shot on target. The game ended in a tense finish with both Dynamos captain Shadreck Nyahwa and Peter Muduhwa booked late on.
