Mwaruwari wishes to coach Tshuma for life, clears him to face soon-to-be home Hardrock in final

While sensationally revealing that he wishes he could coach Mongameli Tshuma for the rest of his life, Highlanders FC coach Benjani Mwaruwari says nothing will stop the midfielder from facing his soon-to-be team, Hardrock FC, in the Chibuku Super Cup final, insisting he will have to be professional.
Tshuma has been Highlanders’ midfield heartbeat this season, with his stylish, free-flowing passing and composure on the ball driving Bosso to the final of the 2026 Chibuku Super Cup.
His form sparked a scramble for his signature, with clubs including Scottland FC and Caps United interested, but it was Hardrock who won the race after reportedly paying $200,000 for his services ahead of the 2027 season.
Interestingly, Tshuma will for the second time come up against Hardrock FC this season. He sat out the league meeting at Barbourfields Stadium, but Mwaruwari says he will be available for the final on 28 November at Chahwanda Stadium.
‘HE NEEDS TO BE PROFESSIONAL’ SAYS BENJANI MWARUWARI
Speaking after guiding Highlanders FC to the final, Mwaruwari said: “I don’t know. I wish I could coach him for the rest of my life but unfortunately we sold him to Hard Rock and good luck to him.
“Season but for today, with us he has done wonders with us. He’s the player that we look at when things are not working, like today we saw he kept on creating chances after chances until we got that equaliser.”
On whether Tshuma will play against his future employers, Hardrock FC, Mwaruwari added: “Of course he will play. He needs to be professional, even Hardrock FC, the law that unless if there is a clause, I don’t know if there is a clause, he’s not supposed to play but I’m sure 80 percent, 90 percent, I’m sure he will play.”
