Munetsi’s cousin Moreboys urges midfielder to quit Warriors after four-nations omission

Marshall Munetsi’s cousin- South Africa-based entrepreneur Moreboys Munetsi, has urged the Warriors vice captain to quit international football, after he was excluded from the squad set to do duty in the upcoming four-nations tournament.

Discussions in local football circles ahead of the squad announcement today, were centered around whether or not Warriors coach Marian Marinica would include the Mabvuku-bred star, who has been in top form at Paris FC, where he has scored in each of the Parisians’ last three Ligue 1 matches.

Munetsi, who is on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, was left out of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 squad, with the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) saying he was injured, yet the soft-spoken midfielder insisted he was not.

Reacting to the squad announced by Marinica for the four-nations tournament set for later this month in Botswana, Moreboys urged his cousin to quit the Warriors and focus of club football.

“Warriors squad for Four Nations Cup announced. No place for Marshall Munetsi , Warriors skipper Marvelous Nakamba included,” wrote Moreboys on Facebook.

“It’s time for Munetsi to consider international retirement from the national team. He should use his remaining years to focus on his club,” he added.
