Marere battle on in NRSL relegation fight

Marere Football Club are still bottom of the MCM Estates Northern Region Soccer League table, but results have improved since Justice Mugota Chasura took charge.

Chasura has overseen 6 games, with 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat. That run has earned the Sanyati side 11 points out of a possible 18.

Their latest result was a 2-1 win over Ngezi Platinum U19 FC in a Week 26 match played yesterday.

Despite the improved form, Marere remain 22nd on the log with 23 points from 26 matches. They are 5 points away from the safety mark, with 16 games left to play this season.

Speaking to Fanzone, Chasura said the team is moving in the right direction.
“There is still plenty of football to be played. We are on the right trajectory to avoid relegation. There is still a lot of work to be done. It will not be an easy journey, but we will fight to keep Division 1 football in Sanyati,” said Chasura.

With 48 points still available, Marere will be hoping to build on the recent results and close the gap in the coming weeks.
