Kaizer Chiefs legend Letsholonyane exits FC Platinum, Onismor Bhasera replaces him
FC Platinum have confirmed that assistant coach Reneilwe “Yeye” Letsholonyane has left the club to take up a head coaching role in Botswana.
The former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana legend only joined Pure Platinum Play at the end of July together with his South African compatriot Thabo Senong.
His next destination is Botswana where he worked during the 2025/26 season at the helm of Matebele FC.
In a swift move, the four-time Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions have named former Zimbabwe international Onismor Bhasera as his replacement.
Bhasera, who enjoyed a distinguished career with Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United, was last on the books of Siwelele FC as assistant coach before departing at the start of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season.

Confirming the changes in a statement on Wednesday, FC Platinum General Manager Collen Nikisi said Bhasera brings vast experience from both his playing and coaching career.
“His experience, leadership and understanding of the game will add valuable depth to our technical team as we continue to strengthen the Club and build for the future,” the club said.
“Working alongside Head Coach Thabo Senong, Bhasera will be part of a technical team focused on developing our players, strengthening the squad and ensuring that FC Platinum remains competitive at the highest level.”
This is Onismor Bhasera’s first coaching gig in Zimbabwe having spent the better part of his career in South Africa both as a player and coach.
FC Platinum also paid tribute to Letsholonyane for his brief contribution. “We thank Yeye for his contribution, professionalism and commitment during his time with FC Platinum and wish him every success in his new role,” Nikisi said.
“We are delighted to welcome Onismor Bhasera to the Maplatso family and look forward to having his experience and energy as we continue building, competing and pushing for success. The journey continues. The ambition remains the same, to compete for honours.”
