Former Zimbabwe defender Onismor Bhasera has been let go by Betway Premiership side Siwelele FC, ahead of the 2026/27 season, South Africa’s FARPost has revealed.

Bhasera has been absent from Siwelele FC gatherings and was left out of pre-season after being dismissed at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

The 40-year-old joined the Bloemfontein club after ending his playing career at SuperSport United[now Siwelele FC]. He moved straight into coaching, having started his badges while still at Matsatsantsa.

Bhasera’s exit comes as head coach Lehlohonolo Seema brings in new faces. Bhasera was informed in June that his services were no longer needed at Siwelele FC, and his absence from the club has confirmed his silent exit.

Meanwhile, the club has brought in Musi Matlaba as a temporary technical consultant to assist with scouting and recruitment. Mario Masha has also been appointed as second assistant after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns.

After a spell in England with Plymouth Argyle, he returned home to join Bidvest Wits between 2013 and 2016, where he anchored the Clever Boys’ defence.
