Masvingo-based side FC Wangu Mazodze has secured a spot in the 2026 Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League after paying their affiliation fees two days ago, Fanzone can exclusively reveal.
The team, known for their vibrant fan base, had missed the February 13 cut-off date for payment, resulting in their omission from the initial fixtures released by the league.
Mazodze will now join the fray and kick off their 2026 Pacific Storm adventure with a Masvingo Derby against 4 Lions FC.
The team is looking to bounce back from a disappointing 2025 campaign, where they finished 9th.
In the 2024 campaign they famously squandered a 12-point lead at the top, allowing Triangle FC to pip them to the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League promotion.
Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League administrator Fungai Munyoro-Chingaira had emphasized the importance of timely payments, citing growth, stability, and confidence in the league’s direction.
However, it appears Mazodze’s late payment has been accommodated, and they will be looking to make an impact in the league.
The inclusion of Mazodze adds an exciting dynamic to the league, and fans are eager to see them in action.
Their Masvingo Derby against 4 Lions FC is shaping up to be an exciting opener.
