Aristică Cioabă boosted by clean bill of health as DeMbare dare to beat Scottland

Dynamos coach Aristică Cioabă is happy with the clean bill of health in his camp as they brace for their PSL blockbuster against Scottland FC in a rescheduled Matchday 25 fixture at Rufaro Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

The serial Zimbabwean champions face Scottland walking with a spring in their step after their impressive 4-1 win over TelOne FC in the Chibuku Super Cup first round.

Unbeaten in the league since coach Cioabă’s arrival, the Dynamos faithful are confident of a win against the PSL leaders, who have only lost twice in the league to Simba Bhora FC and Highlanders FC.

As such, Cioabă is clear on their rules of engagement against Scottland, stating that they want to extend their nine-match unbeaten run in the PSL. How Cioabă plans to stop the menacing former Kaizer Chiefs duo, Knowledge Musona and Khama Billiat will be interesting to see.

Under the expatriate coach, Dynamos’ only blemish has been their shock loss to Hwange in the Munhumutapa Cup Round of 32 match.

In this one, a win for Dynamos will see them move to 48 points and remain third on the table. For Scottland FC, a win will take them to 56 points. Second-placed Hardrock FC, who have 51 points, will be hoping Dynamos beat Scottland to keep the gap at the top of the table narrow.

‘THEY ARE IN HIGH MORALE’ SAYS CIOABA

Speaking ahead of their crunch tie against Scottland FC, the Romanian said the clean bill of health and having no suspensions has made his work easier despite a congested fixture that sees them play three matches in seven days. The two teams drew 0-0 in the first leg played back in April.

“It’s a very important game for us. It’s good for me that I don’t have any player with an injury or any player with a red card,” he said.

“All the players are in camp, they are in high morale, and ready to fight for a win. We respect Scottland FC for being champions, but we are hoping for a good result.”

Having beaten TelOne FC on Sunday, they face Scottland in a mid-week fixture before hosting Chicken Inn FC on Matchday 27. Perhaps their only blessing is that they are playing all their matches in Harare at Rufaro Stadium.
