AMV FC’s title aspirations take flight

‎Africa Mineral Ventures FC is soaring into the 2026 Pacific Storm Eastern Region Soccer League with high hopes and a squad loaded with experience and talent.

The Rusape-based side made a statement with a 4-0 demolition of Manica Diamonds U19 FC in their opening match, and Chairman Godfrey Mufuranhewe is confident they’re on the right trajectory.

‎”We’re expecting good things to happen in Rusape,” Mufuranhewe said. “We’ve acquired top-notch players, and our sole focus is on securing that PSL ticket. We just want to go into the Eastern Region and shoot into the Premier Soccer League, and with the ammunition we have at hand, it’s possible.”

‎The team’s impressive lineup features former Caps United duo Blessing Sarupinda and Adam Tende, Devon Chafa, Collins Duwa, Takabva Mawaya, and Ashford Nyamajiwa, among others. Mufuranhewe believes their experience and skill will be crucial in achieving their goals.

‎”As the Chairperson of the club, we are fighting for that sole PSL ticket,” he said. “With the calibre of players we’ve brought in, seasoned players with Premier League experience, I believe we can make it happen.”

‎But AMV FC’s ambitions go beyond just winning games, they are committed to making a positive impact in the community.

The club has created jobs for locals, from caterers to groundsmen, and partnered with Rusape Town Council to upgrade Vhengere Stadium.

‎”My message to the Rusape community is, let us rally behind Africa Mineral Ventures FC,” Mufuranhewe said. “They’ve brought entertainment to our town, created jobs, and invested in our infrastructure. Our president is serious about this project, and we’re ready to put on a show.”

‎With their sights set on the 2027 Premier Soccer League, AMV FC is a team to watch.

Will they deliver on their promises?

The journey has just begun, and the expectations are high.
