Ambitious Premiership debutants Scottland have signed Warriors forward Terrence Dzvukamanja

The 29-year-old returns to the local Premiership after a six-year stint in South Africa, during which he turned out for Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United.

Dzvukamanja joins a Scottland side with arguably the best squad in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League, with big names like reigning Soccer Star of the Year Walter Musona, last season’s Golden Boot Winner Lynoth Chikuhwa and former Kaizer Chiefs star Khama Billiat.

He (Dzvukamanja) is set to make his Scottland debut when the Mabvuku-based side hosts CAPS United at Rufaro on Sunday.

It remains to be seen if additions to the squad will aid Mabviravira’s title charge, as the Tonderai Ndiraya-coached side currently occupies fourth position on the log standings, nine points adrift of log leaders MWOS.

Scottland, despite the huge amounts of money they spent on players ahead of their debut campaign in the country’s top-flight league, have not been convincing.

Ndiraya’s charges have won seven of their 17 matches.

They have not won any of their six matches played away from Rufaro, a setback which at some point resulted in Ndiraya’s future being shrouded in uncertainty.

To their credit though, Scotland have the second-best defence in the league, having been breached just eight times.
