Zimbabwe will play host to Namibia in a three-match Twenty20 International series next week as part of their final preparations for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Regional Final. All matches are scheduled to take place at Bulawayo’s Queens Sports Club, beginning on September 15, with additional fixtures on the 16th and 18th.
This series comes on the heels of a closely contested 2-1 T20I series loss to Sri Lanka. Zimbabwe will field the same 15-player squad as before, using this encounter to build momentum, fine-tune their combinations, and gain confidence ahead of the tournament proper.
Namibia, known for their consistent strong performances in the format, present a high-calibre opposition—exactly the type of challenge needed to sharpen Zimbabwe’s game plans. The Africa Regional Final is slated for Harare from September 26 to October 4. Eight teams will compete for the top two spots, which provide qualification to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup next year in India and Sri Lanka.
This pre-tournament series will prove vital for Zimbabwe to assess strengths, address weaknesses, and ensure they head into the regional qualifier battle-hardened and ready for action.
