Scottland FC coach Norman Mapeza has refused to be drawn into pressure despite his star-studded team failing to taste victory after two rounds of Castle Lager Premier Soccer League fixtures.
They started the 2026 campaign on a blistering note, beating Dynamos 5-0 in the Castle Challenge Cup. Looking at how they were emphatic against Dynamos, football enthusiasts felt Mapeza’s men would be hard to stop in the PSL title defence.
However, they have failed to live up to their billing following two draws against Hardrock FC and Ngezi Platinum Stars FC. In fact, so much pressure has been thrust on the veteran gaffer, Mapeza, despite that the league is still in its infancy.

The former FC Platinum coach has, however, refused to be drawn into pressure, stating that his team will reach their crescendo and Manica Diamonds, whom they face at Gibbo Stadium on Thursday, could be their first victim.
“We are not putting ourselves under unnecessary pressure because of the two draws we have managed so far. It’s a work in progress and I’m sure things will come right as the season progresses,”Mapeza said while addressing a press conference on Tuesday in Harare.
“Sometimes as coaches or as footballers, we tend to get affected if we are not getting positive results. But look, in terms of playing, in terms of how the guys have been performing, there’s nothing for me to complain about. We have spoken about it. Like I said, it’s all about us being patient. Results will definitely come.”
Mapeza added: “If we are not even creating those opportunities, then I’m sure it’s going to be a challenge in terms of working on their psychology. But they have been creating opportunities and that’s a plus for us.
“So psychologically, we are okay. I’ve spoken to the boys and everybody believes that sometimes you need to be patient in this game of football. Results will definitely come.”
