Francis Tizayi exorcised the ghosts of his previous match, putting up a stellar performance against Highlanders to help MWOS FC secure a goalless draw in a Week 3 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match played at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo yesterday.
The Punters’ number one made three crucial saves in the first half, denying Highlanders strikers any joy and earning his side a point away from home.
In an exclusive interview with Fanzone, Tizayi credited his teammates for being his pillar of strength following last weekend’s error at Ngoni Stadium, which ultimately cost them a possible three points.
That support and motivation from his teammates inspired Tizayi to make a number of key saves to earn the Punters a point against a tough Bosso.
”I just want to thank the boys, last week they lifted up my spirit when I was back,” he said. “You know it is part of the game, when one is down the other has to lift you up and they did the same with me, and that spirit pushed me today.”
With the clean sheet safely tucked under his belt, Tizayi is now looking to the future.
”Actually, to get such a performance was all because of them,” he said. “It is part of our job, what I just did was not to let in the ball into our net, I just really wanted that clean sheet so that I can lift up my spirit this week going forward.”
The scoreless stalemate was MWOS FC’s third consecutive draw of the 2026 Premier Soccer League season and Tizayi remains optimistic.
”Things will come up, these are just the first games,” he said. “We just need to keep on pushing, working hard, and lift each other up, we will get there,” added Tizayi.
