Tinaye Tsimba announces himself in Malawi with brace for Nyasa Big Bullets

Former Bikita Minerals and FC Hunters winger Tinaye Tsimba has hit the ground running in Malawi after marking his first goals for FDH Bank Premiership giants Nyasa Big Bullets with a brace last weekend.
Tsimba made the switch to Malawi in August, signing a two-year deal with the most successful team in the Malawian top-flight.
He had to wait for his moment, making his debut two weeks ago when he came on as a substitute in the last 13 minutes against Blue Eagles in a match Nyasa won 2-0, showing flashes of brilliance that once earned him cult hero status at Bikita Minerals and FC Hunters.
Last weekend, history repeated itself but with a far greater impact.
Introduced again with thirteen minutes to go and Bullets 1 nil up, Tsimba turned the game on its head scoring twice to help his team to a 3-0 triumph over MAFCO FC away from home.
The Zimbabwean scored his first goal in the 88th minute before completing his brace in the 93rd minute, an epic cameo that saw him voted Man of the Match.
His double has earned him a place in the FDH Bank Premiership Team of the Week, a perfect start to life in Blantyre.
Speaking to Fanzone, Tsimba said he has settled well in Malawi, noting that the football environment is not too different from back home.
“I have since settled well in Malawi as there is no difference really on the environment between the intensity and level of competition there and back home, with the difference being maybe the language and currency,” Tsimba told Fanzone.
He said he was delighted to open his account and hopes it is the beginning of many more goals.
“I was pleased to open my account there and I am hopeful that this will be a first of many as I want to help my new team win titles,” he said.
Tsimba added that he views the move as a crucial step in his career progression.
“I see this adventure as an opportunity and stepping stone to move and advance with my career and I will do my best to help Nyasa Big Bullets fight for top honours,” he added.
He joins a club with rich history, formerly coached by former Warriors and Dynamos mentor Callisto Pasuwa, who enjoyed a trophy-laden seven-year stint where numerous records were broken.
Tsimba’s arrival comes at a crucial time, with Nyasa Big Bullets leading a tight title race.
They are currently top of the standings with 36 points after 17 rounds of matches, followed closely by rivals Mighty Wanderers on 35 points and Blue Eagles on 34 points.
