Thando fires AmaZulu past TS Galaxy, Jalai makes Betway Premiership debut

Warriors striker Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya came off the bench to score two goals as AmaZulu came from behind to beat TS Galaxy 3-2 in a Betway Premiership match played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium today.

The former FC Platinum man also recorded an assist as Usuthu recorded a win at home.

He fired home from close range in the 79th minute, restoring parity for Usuthu after Victor Letsoalo had fired Galaxy ahead with 70 minutes on the clock.

Galaxy took the lead again a minute later, with Ngwenya’s Warriors teammate Junior Zindoga, whose well taken shot after some good work on the left, found the top corner.

Ngwenya turned from scorer to provider in the 89th minute, setting up Mondli Mbanjwa, who finished well from close range to make it 2-2.

He (Ngwenya) would have the final say in time added on, scoring the winner to virtually end the dramatic contest.

At the Chatsworth Stadium, about 28 kilometers in Durban from where Ngwenya and Zindoga scored at Mabhidha, Emmanuel Jalai made his debut in the South African Premiership, as Durban City saw off Polokwane City with a 1-0 victory.

The diminutive right back had a good game on the right side of defense as City kept it tight and barely allowed Polokwane any space to attack.

Jalai played the entire game as Sinethemba Badela’s charges recorded a victory courtesy of Trevor Mokwena’s first half header.
