Former CAPS United striker Adam Tende has described his six months at the Harare giants as learning curve which will improve him as a player.
Tende joined The Green Machine from Masvingo United in June last year and though he barely featured under Ian Bakala when the club was fighting relegation, the big striker had two assists to his name.
However, the recent changes at CAPS, initiated by club president Farai Jere, led to Tende’s departure.
In a major shake-up, Jere dissolved the entire CAPS technical bench, relegating former coach Ian Bakala to the role of assistant coach.
Chiragwi’s appointment as head coach saw him bring in new players like McDonald Makuwe, Richard Hachiro, Nyasha Gurende, Davison Marowa, Obriel Chirinda and Talent Chamboko.
”Coach Chiragwi brought in his own players, and I think that’s when my journey with CAPS United came to an end,” Tende told Fanzone.
“I’m grateful for the experience, and I’m excited to explore my options,” he added.
Now, Tende is weighing options, with Triangle, Dynamos and ZPC Kariba expressing interest in his services.
“I’m still considering my options and not ruling out a big move anytime soon,” he said.
Before joining Caps United, Tende was a wanted man, with Highlanders FC among the clubs chasing him.
Eastern Region football analyst Misheck Denhere believes Masvingo United made a mistake letting Tende go.
“If they had kept Tende, they could have had a strong challenge for the championship,”
”His nine goals had propelled Masvingo United to be strong challengers for the championship, and his departure subsequently left a gap that contributed to their eventual third-place finish,” said Denhere.
