TelOne FC set to reunite with right-back Marvellous Chigumira

TelOne FC is set to reunite with right-back Marvellous Chigumira, who endured a rather frustrating stay at 2025 PSL champions, Scottland FC.

Chigumira spent last season at the Mabvuku-based side, having been lured from Highlanders FC, after impressing during the 2024 season.

Nicknamed ‘Vhorovo’, the 28-year-old talented utility defender followed other former Highlanders players like Peter Muduhwa and Lynoth Chikuhwa to the Mabvuku outfit.

But his stay at the club did not go as planned, having been starved of game time, playing second fiddle to Warriors right-back, Godknows Murwira.

However, the club that helped him break onto the PSL back in 2019, TelOne, is set to give him yet another lifeline as the 2026 season fast approaches.

TelOne FC club president Oscar Nduwure confirmed to FanZone that Chigumira is nearing his reunion with the Gweru-based outfit, as all formalities are almost done.

“We are almost there, he’ll be joining us shortly. We want to bring him back because we still believe in him and he will reinforce our defense. All we hope for is to beef up our team and make it stronger,” Nduwure said.

TelOne FC were last season’s surprise package, having challenged for the title but lost steam at a critical time in the race, only to finish the season in fifth position, behind Scottland FC, MWOS FC, Simba Bhora, and Ngezi Platinum Stars, respectively.

Meanwhile, after letting go off their star player Washington Navaya to Hardrock FC, The Wifi Boys have reinforced their club with six new signings.

These are goalkeeper Takudzwa Chikosi, who was at Triangle last season, midfielders Innocent Muchaneka and Jerry Chipangura, who joined from Yadah, while Chelsea Nyakope was lured from Bikita Minerals.

Hardworking striker Farai Matatu also joined them from Kwekwe United, along with unheralded goalkeeper Admore Mawere, who was playing in Spain’s lower leagues.
