Former Tottenham Hotspur skipper Son Heung-min is set to appear at his old home for the first time since moving to Los Angeles FC in the summer.
The forward, who spent a decade in north London, will greet supporters during the Champions League tie with Slavia Prague on Tuesday, 9 December.
His time at the club concluded with a major milestone, guiding Spurs to their first silverware in 17 years by helping them win the Europa League last season.
Son described the occasion as emotional but necessary for both sides as he prepares to reconnect with fans.
A message to supporters
The South Korea international confirmed his exit during Tottenham’s pre-season visit to his homeland, with his last outing coming in a full-capacity match in Seoul. He noted that he had not managed to say his goodbyes at the stadium before leaving.
Son expressed his delight at the chance to return to London and address the crowd directly. He said he wanted to convey how deeply the backing of supporters had mattered to him and his family throughout his stay.
Club tribute and special unveiling
Tottenham stated that Son will step onto the pitch shortly before the players emerge for the 20:00 GMT kick-off. He will be given time to speak to the crowd and offer personal words to those in attendance.
The club has also organized a mural on Tottenham High Road to honor his influence.
Son selected the artwork himself, which will be produced by Murwalls, the team behind pieces celebrating Ledley King and Harry Kane.
