Simba Bhora continued their resurgence in emphatic fashion on Sunday, defeating Scottland FC 2-1 at Rufaro Stadium in one of the biggest results of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season so far.

Coming into the fixture on the back of a dominant 3-0 victory over FC Platinum, Simba Bhora showed once again that they are rediscovering the form that made them champions. More importantly, they handed Scottland their first league defeat since August 2025, ending a remarkable unbeaten run.

The match was played at a high intensity, with both sides creating chances in an electric atmosphere at Rufaro. Scottland, packed with attacking quality, looked dangerous in spells, but Simba Bhora were organised, disciplined and clinical when it mattered most.

After taking the lead early in the game through Khama Billiat, Scottland defended with determination while continuing to threaten on the counter-attack. Simba Bhora managed to pull one goal back, in the second half courtesy of McCartney Nwaseb setting up a tense finale. Simba Bhora kept firing away and sealed victory in the 85th minute from Harrison Masina who now has scored 4 goals in 3 games, to give his side a massive victory.

The result marks back-to-back statement victories for Simba Bhora after a difficult run of form earlier in the campaign. Their performances against FC Platinum and now Scottland suggest the former champions are beginning to find their rhythm again at a crucial stage of the season.

For Scottland, the defeat is a rare setback in what has otherwise been an impressive campaign. Despite the loss, they remain one of the league’s strongest sides, but Sunday proved they are not untouchable.

Simba Bhora, meanwhile, have sent a clear warning to the rest of the PSL: the former champions are far from finished.
