Simba Bhora refutes players exodus claims

Former champions Simba Bhora have vehemently dismissed claims that they are on a verge of losing a number of their key players, insisting that majority of their players have running contracts which expire at the end of next season.

This comes after reports suggested that they were about to lose the star duo of Donald Mudadi and Emmanuel Ziocha to free-spending Harare giants CAPS United.
The Shamva-based side once lost most of their key players after winning the championship in 2024, but a source from the club, who spoke to Fanzone, insists that won’t happen again as they had learnt their lesson.

The source also revealed that the only two players out of contract on December 31, 2025, are midfielder Liberty Chakoroma and goalkeeper Tonderai Mateyaunga.

“We are already planning for next season as a team and we are happy that most of our senior and experienced players have contracts that will run until next season,” the source said.

“We learnt last season when we lost majority of our key players to our rivals that we needed to ensure that all our players sign at least two- year contracts.

“So majority of our players have a running contracts and any club that would want to buy a player from us will have to come through our club.

“We only have two players; that is Liberty Chakoroma and Tonderai Mateyaunga whose contracts have expired but the rest of the have running contracts which expire in December 2026.

“So we are gearing up for the next season knowing that we have a solid team and any club that might want the services of any our contracted players will have to follow the due process,” added the source.
