Simba Bhora Edge Highlanders in Five-Goal Thriller at Barbourfields

Highlanders hosted Simba Bhora at Barbourfields Stadium over the weekend in a thrilling encounter that saw five goals, late drama, and moments of brilliance. After a frustrating 0-0 draw against Dynamos in their previous fixture, Highlanders were eager to bounce back and regain their form. Simba Bhora, on the other hand, arrived in Bulawayo full of confidence, having enjoyed a strong run of results.

The visitors wasted no time asserting themselves. In the 13th minute, Isakar opened the scoring after connecting well with a Ziocha assist, silencing the Highlanders faithful. But the hosts responded ten minutes later as Ncube found the back of the net to bring the game level, reigniting the atmosphere inside Barbourfields.

However, Simba Bhora quickly regained control. Ziocha, already with an assist to his name, turned scorer in the 30th minute, restoring the lead for the visitors and giving them a 2-1 advantage going into the break.

The second half saw Highlanders pushing harder, showing more urgency and cohesion. Their persistence paid off in the 80th minute when Rauzhi netted the equaliser, sending the home crowd into celebration once again. But just as Highlanders thought they had rescued a point, Ziocha struck again to seal a brace and secure a 3-2 win for Simba Bhora.

Despite another defeat, Highlanders showed marked improvement, fighting until the final whistle. They remain in 10th place and will hope to build on this improved performance. Simba Bhora, meanwhile, continue their impressive form and stay second on the table, keeping their title hopes very much alive.
