Scottland plot ambitious move for Daniel Msendami

Reigning PSL champions Scottland FC are in advanced negotiations to sign Daniel Msendami in the January transfer window.

Sources have indicated that the Harare-based side has identified the Zimbabwe international winger as a priority target for next season.

Msendami is currently at Marumo Gallants on a season-long loan from Orlando Pirates. He rejoined Gallants during the just-ended transfer window, returning to the club he had joined in 2024 from Jwaneng Galaxy.

The 25-year-old was one of the standout performers at Gallants, a form that earned him a move to Soweto giants Pirates in January this year. However, he has failed to replicate that spark at Pirates, struggling for regular game time due to stiff competition.

The winger made eight appearances for the Buccaneers last term. Before his loan move this season, he had already featured three times across all competitions, scoring once. A source close to Scottland FC confirmed to Fanzone that the club is invested in bringing him to Zimbabwe.

“Scottland are very serious about Msendami and they want to sign him. He has been one of the players on our long-term list. Negotiations are at an advanced stage,” the source said.

If concluded, the move would see Msendami return to Zimbabwean football, just like a litany of other stars already established in the local game. Scottland FC are already planning for the 2027 season, which kicks off with the January transfer window.

Msendami would join an already star-studded Scottland FC squad featuring Zimbabwean football heavyweights Khama Billiat, Knowledge Musona and Walter Musona.

Scottland FC arguably the wealthiest and most heavily backed club in Zimbabwe, a financial powerhouse that has completely shifted domestic power dynamics away from traditional giants like Dynamos and Highlanders.
