Scottland FC continued their impressive run of form with a narrow but crucial 1-0 victory over Yadah at Rufaro Stadium on Monday afternoon — a result that lifted them into second place on the PSL log, overtaking MWOS FC and bringing them within a single point of leaders Simba Bhora.
From the first whistle, Scottland played with real urgency, aware of the opportunity to climb the table. They dominated possession and launched wave after wave of attack throughout the first half but were repeatedly frustrated by a resolute Yadah backline.
Yadah, however, grew into the game in the early stages of the second half. Their best opportunity came in the 58th minute when Mustafa broke through for a one-on-one chance, only to be denied by a brilliant save from Scottland keeper Shandiwa, who kept his side in the game with that vital intervention.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 66th minute when Tymon Machope pounced inside the box to slot home the winner. There were murmurs from the Yadah bench claiming the forward may have been offside in the build-up, but the referee allowed the goal to stand — a decision that proved decisive.
The win marks Scottland’s fourth consecutive victory in their last five games and underlines their status as serious title contenders.
However, the biggest moment of the day came at halftime, when former Zimbabwe international and Warriors captain Knowledge Musona was unveiled as Scottland’s marquee signing. Musona, alongside club owner Scott Sakupwanya, posed on the pitch with the number 8 jersey — a move that stunned local football fans.
