Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has cut short his time in Turkey after agreeing to cancel his agreement with Besiktas.
The 32-year-old had signed for the Istanbul club in August 2023 following his exit from Liverpool, but both sides have now chosen to part ways despite a year remaining on his deal.
Details of settlement
Besiktas, now coached by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, confirmed that the player will receive 1.75 million euros (£1.5m) as part of the termination package.
During his spell, Oxlade-Chamberlain featured in 50 matches and found the net five times. He also lifted the Turkish Cup in 2024.
Career background
The former Southampton prospect earned 35 appearances for England but has not been called up since 2019.
He moved from Arsenal to Liverpool in 2017 for £35m and went on to make 146 outings, registering 18 goals.
Injuries, including two major knee problems, limited his impact, though he was part of the squad that secured the Premier League crown in 2020.
