Orapa United move excites Honest Mhlanga

Former Highlanders midfielder Honest Mhlanga is relishing the prospect of playing in the Botswana Premier League after sealing a move to Orapa United.

“Mhlanga, who signed a one-year deal with the Botswana top-flight side, was unveiled today.

Mhlanga told Fanzone after his unveiling that he is looking forward to the challenge and regain full fitness after a nagging injury which kept him on the sidelines for a long time.

“I’m happy that I’ve come back strong after an injury that made me think it was the end of my career,” said Mhlanga.

“Having played for Highlanders, my fight is for the Orapa badge now . It’s a great achievement for me to come out of my comfort zone and go to another league and test my strength.

“I’m happy I never gave up during the difficult time. I told myself I will come back to football, and here I am. I don’t want to just end here – I’ll fight my way up,” he added.

Mhlanga rose through the Highlanders junior ranks and was promoted to the senior team in 2024.

He suffered an injury that kept him out of most of the 2025 season.
