Bulawayo Hockey Club launched the kit they will wear for the upcoming Africa Club Cup Championship (ACCC) slated for tomorrow in Harare.
BHC will be representing Zimbabwe together with Hippo Hockey Club at the continental tournament to be held at St John’s College.
The kit launch took place in Bulawayo yesterday and it was attended by Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC)Coordinator Sam Dzvimbu.
Dzvimbu spoke highly of Bulawayo Hockey Club saying they are not just going to represent Bulawayo but Zimbabwe as whole and they should feel proud.
BHC Chairman Frarai Kanyangarara said they feel proud for managing to qualify for the international tournament for the first in since the formation of the club in 2014 for boys and 2016 for girls.
“We’re proud as the club for managing to qualify for an international tournament for the first time since the formation of the club in 2014 for boys and 2016 for girls,” said Kanyangarara.
“It’s something we planned, and we said we were going to qualify – both girls and boys. We did, and now let’s go there not to add numbers, but to compete,” he added.
Thirteen clubs from seven African countries – Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia, Egypt, Ghana, Uganda, and Kenya will compete for top honors at the tournament.
