Premiership debutants MWOS will finally be able to play at their beloved Ngoni Stadium after the facility got the nod to host top-flight games.
The Punters, who are on a fairytale start to life in the Premiership, have been using the Baobab Stadium while Ngoni was undergoing refurbishment and currently occupy the top spot after six rounds of fixtures.
Lloyd Mutasa’s troops have won four of their opening six matches in the Premiership – lighting up the league in the process.
Up next for the Ptunters is a date against struggling Harare giants Dynamos at Ngoni next Monday.
Another win for the Norton-based side will mean DeMbare’s misery would have been piled on by one of their own, a man whose blood is blue-—Mutasa.
The seasoned gaffer was part of the DeMbare squad, which got to the CAF Champions League in 1998 under the tutelage of the legendary Sunday ‘Mhofu’ Chidzambwa.
Mutasa also coached Dynamos in the Champions League in 2011.
But now, his heart is with the Punters, who will be seeking to get their third win on the trot at the expense of DeMbare.
Despite the rich football history it has, traceable back to the early 90s, Norton had never hosted a Premiership match before but will finally do so on Monday.
Ngoni, located in the high-density suburb of Ngoni, has been the Punters’ home since Division 2.
It was refurbished to meet Premiership standards this year, after the Clayton Arimoso-led executive secured promotion through the Southern Region ticket.
It is a 10,000-seater boasting modern changing rooms and a squeaky-clean media conference room.
The facility also has electronic turnstiles
